A classic FPS based on Descent 2.

D2X-XL is a modified, improved and increased version of Descent 2, a classic FPS game that you can now enjoy in its free and open code version.

The game is quite well documented, and has wide technical support. Another advantage of D2X-XL is that, despite having a wide range of improvements and new features, it is still compatible with the previous version of Descent 2.

Also, many of these features and improvements keep the original flavour of Descent 2 (like having all views available, or certain possibilities with the mouse use), so you will find in D2X-XL is a much closer and faithful game to the original than later sequels. The versions for Linux and MacOS are also available for free on the author's website.
